Stars of PyeongChang 2018
With summer just around the corner, it’s a good time to recap the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Paralympic Games, before the star performances fade like the disappearing frost from our memory. These Games were spectacular, with stellar performances, new arrivals and a few upsets. But let’s take a look at the ones who carved a name for themselves in Paralympic history. Here’s our list of top medal haulers at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Paralympics:
1. Henrieta Farkasova & Natalia Subrtova (SVK)
Slovakian Henrieta Farkasova, with guide Natalia Subrtova, left PyeongChang as the most decorated Paralympian with four gold medals and a silver in Alpine Skiing.
2. Marie Bochet (FRA)
Marie Bochet from France set the slopes on fire and went away with 4 golds in Alpine Skiing.
3. Benjamin Daviet (FRA)
Also from France, Benjamin Daviet was not far behind, with 5 medals in total. He took home 2 Golds and 1 Silver in Biathlon, and 1 Gold and 1 Silver in Cross-Country Skiing.
4. Ekaterina Rumyantseva (NPA)
Ekaterina Rumyantseva competing under the banner of a Neutral Paralympic Ahtlete, also left with 2 Gold and 1 Silver in Biathlon, and 1 Gold and 1 Silver in Cross-Country Skiing.
5. Eui Hyun Sin (KOR)
This one is a special mention for Eui Hyun Sin, who became South Korea’s lone gold medallist and most successful athlete in his home Games. Sin stole the show when he won the Men’s Sitting 7.5km race, feeling the roaring crowd surge him to the finish line.
