The Paralympics have grown rapidly over the last 20 years, developing from little brother to the Olympic Games to a sporting mega-event in their own right. However, there are some pretty startling facts that most people aren’t aware of:
There are a total number of 9 athletes who first competed at the Paralympics but then went on to compete at the Olympics.
This number is growing all the time and 3 from that list featured at the Rio Olympics in 2016 alone.
It includes Nathalie du Toit, a long distance swimmer originating from South Africa, Melissa Tapper an Australian Table Tennis player and Zahra Nemati, an Archer from Iran.
